Construction:

There is actually no constructing necessary when making a stand out of building bricks. You only stack the materials in right order. If the bricks are too large you may have to saw them down. Personally I needed to saw few centimeters of so that I could fit the bricks under the board. The board is 47 centimeters wide and the bricks were 24 cm by 24 cm. The board is 46 mm thick and it was on sale at the local hardware store. All I had to do was sawing the board to match the size of the aquarium.

Stages:

Firstly I used the wool carpet pieces to cover the floor surface. The bricks were stacked on top of these pieces of carpet.. The hight of the stand is altered by the amount of the bricks used. Personally I enjoy quite tall stands so I used piles of four bricks. After the piling I used the wool carpet to cover the rough surface of the bricks. Now all you have to do is place the wooden board on top of the piles. At this point it is wise to make sure that the board is leveled correctly. The shape of the bricks may varie a bit so there is a possibility that some piles are slightly higher than others. In case this occurs you may need to play a little buzzle to find a order that insures the same hight for all the piles.

Finishing:

At the end you may want to decorate the stand with a material that suites your style. Some people cover the bricks with a sheet. Others use boards or other building materials. A good idea might be a bambu that is available at hardware and interior stores. This allows you to hide all the technical equipment inside the stand and out of sight. And after all the building bricks don't look very nice either. Some people have also painted the bricks. This improves the visual effect and possibly even helps with the nasty crumbling feature of the bricks.
